I will start from the beginning. Anyone who doesn’t know weather is unpredictable. We booked a 1pm excursion the day before and Leon was accommodating to our las minute needs. Around noon the day of he called and said cancun had closed the port due to weather. He had other options if we wanted to still boat that day that didn’t include going into the ocean but I asked if he openings any other days. Leon was accommodating and had an open slot and squeezed us in. For everyone that hasn’t booked a boat excursion most of the larger companies charge $60-$90 usd but neglect to tell you that there will be close to 30 other people on the boat. I know it costs more to book a private boat but it is always with the extra cost. Leon has been in the Cancun area for 30 years and is will to accommodate all your needs. He was in communication with me via phone and text about what we need and met all our needs. His boat was large and could meet the needs for large groups. I can’t remember what his boat helpers name was but they both made us feel at home even with two children ages 8 and 11. We had fresh guac, delicious ceviche and all we wanted to drink. We even talked him into bringing his dog Migo on the trip. To sum it up I would it would be in anyone’s best interest to support the local small business whenever possible. The people down here work really hard and depend on your business. Don’t forget to tip appropriately. Safe travels!
