About this Experience / Cruise

This is a longer scenic cruise that takes you along the full Caribbean-facing coastline of the Hotel Zone from a perspective most visitors never get to see. The water out here is deeper, the waves are bigger and the scale of the open ocean gives the whole experience a different feeling — swimming here makes you aware of just how vast the Caribbean is.

We cruise all the way to Punta Nizuc at the southern end of the Hotel Zone where the bay ends and Nizuc Reef begins — one hour out and one hour back, with time to swim and take in the scenery along the way. If you want a shorter version we can turn around at the halfway point. On calm days we stop directly in front of the Hotel Zone's famous white sand beaches for a swim in open water. If conditions are rougher we head back to the Arenales or Presidente Beach where the water is always calmer.

This cruise is best on a flat, calm day — when the Caribbean is settled it is genuinely spectacular. A fresh lunch, soft drinks and open bar are served throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between this cruise and the Punta Cancun one?+
This cruise covers the full length of the Hotel Zone coastline, giving you a view of all of Cancun from the sea — more distance covered, more scenery.
Will we pass the famous hotel strip?+
Yes — you get a unique perspective of Cancun's hotel zone from the sea, a view most visitors never experience.
Do we go into open ocean on this route?+
Yes — this cruise takes you along the Caribbean-facing side of the Hotel Zone so you'll feel the open sea.
Is this cruise worth it?+
On a calm day yes — flat water, good light and the full Hotel Zone coastline from the sea is a great experience. On rougher days we recommend staying in the bay. Your captain will give you an honest read on conditions before you decide.
Is this a good cruise for photography?+
All our cruises offer great photo opportunities. Action cameras and cellphones work best on board — salt water and humidity are not ideal for professional camera equipment.
